Halfway down the east coast of the Azuero peninsula, the river spills into the Pacific ocean offering a combination of a fishing river port and the natural ebb & tide of beach life – full of fauna and flora of the wetland mangroves on the river banks and of the beaches in a small settlement of Panamanian beach homes.

Three local restaurants offer delicious tropical cuisine and a laid back atmosphere that is extraordinary; prepared with the freshest locally-produced fish and seafood, fruits, and vegetables. You will be able to walk 3- 5 minutes to a nearby quaint restaurant serving these savory local dishes. Each morning at La Casa del Puerto, there is a variety of fresh fruits and bread purchased from the local panaderia. World-renowned Panama coffee is served.
As a Peace Corps volunteer in 1967, I fell in love with the Panamanian people. After a 38 year break, I have returned to make my home in Panama. I am using my skills in international economic and community development to promote eco-tourism and sustainable development. Local villagers are involved in small businesses and will share their skills, traditions, and celebrations as they assist with your visit to Panama.
